Revision Week:
Do all your pieces feel like they are exploring your investigation topic?
I do. I feel like each peace is showing some sort of representation of my topic of "Secrets and Lies". Especially when most are kinetic in some way. Showing how said Secrets or Lies can change or affect us physically.
Which piece is your strongest?
Well I think 2 of my pieces stands out strongly from the rest. Number 5 and 3. Number 5 because it was the first piece i introduced like into and made it function well. Number 3 because the idea and meaning behind it brings it out.
If you were to get rid of one piece which would it be?
I would say my number 1 or number 4 piece. Those were by far the weakest out of them all.
Which pieces need tweaking or revising?
I would say number 7, 6, and 5. Those feel like they are missing something.

Concentration #7
Coin
Idea: The idea behind this concentration was shining the light through the deceit. Showing that the light reveals what the truth is and how it reveals the truth about most people. Whether they say "I'm Fine" but really mean "Help me" or vise versa. How there are two sides of every story
Materials: I used wires to create the person and the words. I used an old picture frame I had found that had spinning frames on the inside, which I used to my advantage. I had used tape to wrap around two of the empty frames so I had a place the words. I then used a light and stabilized it, as well as placed it, in a perfect distance. I also used yellow and black paint to cover each side of the taped frames and wired words.
Process: i first filled the frames with tape, then painted over it. I then created words out of wire that read "Help me" and "I'm Fine", each painted in a contrasting color to its respective side. I had created a wired person, and created a way to hang him up in the air while trying to keep it visually interesting. Then I brought in the light source and measured how far it'd need to go in order to fit the middle frame just right.

Concentration 6
Marry me?
Idea: The idea behind this image was mostly around proposals and vows. When being engaged you'll most likely make a vow, or promise, to the other person. I used the idea of vows and twisted it around lies and secrets. The Metallic Women is crossing her fingers as a sign of lies, then hiding it behind her back in attempt of deceit. Not only that, but the door knobs also have some significance to them. On the Metallic Man's side the knob is above him, open; showing that he is completely open to her. However on the Metallic Woman's side its pointed more sideways; showing he is still closed off and isn't open to him at all.
Materials: I found 3 things in a closest; 2 of which were bins. I used a roll of wires, a few doorknobs from a bin, and a bin of what seems to be random junk that I found use for; not exactly sure what those items were.
Process: With the bin of what seemed like random items I was simply playing with them, trying to see if I could somehow use them to build my idea from idea to sculpture. With some tweaks I managed to shape it perfectly how I wanted. I still needed to somehow make my concentration theme clear, so I found a couple doorknobs and played with the idea of closed and open doors. I still needed to clearly express my idea, so I found a roll of wires and started messing with it to see if I could shape it into anything. Eventually i managed to shape out a person and just built upon that shape, then did it again.

Before-and-Afters
Concentration #5
Revealing Light
Idea: I was using big brain energy when making this concentration. I wanted to do something involving lights since lights are used to "reveal" ones intentions in many works of fiction. I also wanted it to tell a little story.
Materials: I used a wireless light from Home depot, a tire I found in a closet, and pencil with paper. I taped up two pieces of paper, which were thin enough to shine a light through, to create revealing effect. Using the tires spinning ability to help create that story.
Process: I let my imagination go wild and threw object together. It was difficult at first since I had no clue how to put everything together, but after struggling and a couple cuts I managed through. It was a long process of removing screws, applying glue, and attaching objects on a singular well.

Concentration #4
Webbed Lies
Idea: The idea for this is very simple. It's a web of lies, but I had friends write and attach the lies.
Materials: I had used 2 wood blocks and 4 triangle wood pieces. With fake webbing, string, fake leaves, and hand written lies.
Process: I had spent days painting and stablizing the wood blocks. Then i had attached string with tape and tied the webbing on those strings. I then had friends write lies they have told and attached them on the web. Then I scattered leaves across the webs.

Concentration #3
Burnt Secrets
Idea: The main basic idea is how keeping secrets, or hiding your past away can turn a beautiful bowl into a huge mess.
Materials: It is a wheele thrown wheel bowl, which would be hand manipulated. I also had used newspaper with hand written secrets
Process: I had spent 3 days spinning this bowl out of 3 years of no practice. I then gently twisted the edges, then glazed it with an autumn leaf base; as well as a saphire blue inside. Afterwards i had friends in my class write secrets they had on newspaper, then glued it inside. Afterwards I burned the inside along with paper towls.

Concentration #1 (REDACTED)
Ideas: The idea behind my first concentration was that people would hide and lie about what they are truly feeling.
Materials: I used watercolor and paper, mixed with sharpie and pen.
Process: It was mostly a loose sketch before becoming a whole idea itself, and I just went with the flow with it; in which i kept working back on this loose sketch.
